Head of Design

Design Unloc into the keyless future: the brand and its story, every word, every interface and every surface on the door, and an agentic access platform where MCP, plugins and connections are the norm.

Design Unloc into the keyless future.

Unloc opens more than 2 million doors a month, and most people never think about it. That’s the point, and the challenge: how does invisible access look, sound and feel? You own the answer, end to end: the brand and the story behind it, the words on every page, and the experience on every surface we ship, from the app and the platform property teams run every day to the doorbell, stickers and signs on the door itself. You’re designing what a world without keys looks like. Next is access that agents use as naturally as people do: an agentic platform where MCP, plugins and connections are the norm. You design what that looks like. You don’t build a team of people; you build a team of AI design agents, and work closely with the CEO and the product team.

What you’ll own

  • The brand: our story, identity and trademark, and how they show up everywhere, from the website to a sticker on a door.
  • Words: copywriting and storytelling, in the product and outside it. Clear, warm and unmistakably Unloc.
  • Product design: every surface we ship, from the app and the web platform to the doorbell, stickers and signs on the door. Crafted, tested with real users and shipped.
  • The agentic platform: how people and agents work with access through MCP, plugins and connections, and how that feels to the person in charge.
  • Your AI design team: the design agents you build and run, and the design system and standard they help the whole company ship to.

What we expect

  • Norwegian-speaking and based in Oslo, working side by side with the CEO and the product team.
  • A designer who has led both brand and product. You’ve shaped a story and shipped the interfaces that carry it.
  • A writer. Words are design material to you, and you write sharp, simple Norwegian and English.
  • Craft at the level of the pixel and the system: type, motion, interaction and the rules that keep it all consistent.
  • Curious about agents, MCP and the interfaces that come after the screen. You’ve built with them, not just read about them.
  • AI-native and hands-on: you prototype in code, run your own design agents and ship at a pace that looks unfair.

What to show us

Show us two or three pieces of work you’re proud of, ideally one brand and one product, and tell us your part in each: what you decided and why. If you’ve designed for agents, APIs or developer tools, show us that too.

Help build the challenger.

Keys, fobs and cards made buildings depend on someone being there. Unloc replaces them with access the data decides, on the locks already installed.

400,000+ homes and workplaces already run on Unloc, and the app opens more than 2 million doors a month. You’ll work directly with the founders and own a real part of what comes next.
